Susan S. Fusco was an area teacher in route to a teacher’s conference in Tampa, Florida in January 1982. Flight 90 of Air Florida never made it to its destination. The plane crashed into a busy commuter plane after taking off from the then named National Airport. Susan was among the seventy-eight people killed in the tragedy. The Susan S. Fusco Memorial Fund, Inc. was created in her memory. On October 5, 2006, the representatives of the fund established an endowed scholarship at Prince George’s Community College for deserving students.
